Since 2006, when Nicholas partnered with his mother Edie Apostal to form The Apostal Group, the team has focused on providing a high level of service with a friendly and professional approach to customer interaction. As lifelong Chicagoans, Edie and Nicholas, along with the rest of team at The Apostal Group, offer buyers a thorough knowledge of the market and tough negotiating skills to secure the best possible property for that client. For sellers, the team’s dedication to continuous market analysis and regular feedback, as well as their network of contacts and attention to detail, ensure that homes are sold and closed quickly and easily for the highest possible price. Nicholas Apostal

Principal Broker 

Nicholas Apostal has established himself as one of the top residential REALTORS® in Chicago and a leader in the residential brokerage community. He is a managing broker associate and a member of national, state and the local Chicago Association of REALTORS® where he co-founded the local committee of the Young Professional Network. He’s earned his ABR, Accredited Buyer Representative, CNE, Certified Negotiating Expert and Relocation certifications as well as the Previews Luxury Property Specialist and CRS, Certified Residential Specialist designations. He began his real estate career in 2001 as a junior associate at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Lincoln Park and by 2006 Nicholas partnered with his mother, Edie Apostal, and hired two associates to form The Apostal Group with the goal of providing a higher level of customer service and targeted expertise to clients. Over the past decade, Nicholas and The Apostal Group have earned a reputation for excellence in expertise as well as caring and personal attention, earning him recognition among the top 1% of Realtors in the city. Last year, he helped more than 94 clients close over $39M in home sales. In addition to these accomplishment, Nicholas currently sits on the board of the Chicago Association of Realtors and was the featured broker in a February 2016 episode of HGTV’s House Hunters Renovation.

A lifelong resident of Chicago’s north side, Nicholas comes from a family that has been active in real estate investment, management, development and sales for more than 40 years. He attended public school at Lincoln Elementary, received his high school diploma from Francis W. Parker School in Lincoln Park, then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University. Before turning his full attention to real estate, he worked as a program coordinator and fundraiser for an international non-profit organization in New York City. He is an active member of the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Auxiliary Board and is involved with multiple local charity and civic organizations. When he’s not working Nicholas loves cooking, theatre, skiing, history and travel.

He remains an avid learner, ever improving his skills and proficiency in the trade, and a passionate teacher, constantly encouraging an honest, ethical and dedicated approach to facilitating the needs of individual home buyers and sellers. Nicholas embodies the role of the “trusted advisor” to his clients and colleagues alike.

Edie Apostal


Edie Apostal has been active in Chicago real estate sales, management and development since 1974.  In 1993 she moved her business to Coldwell Banker and in 2006 joined with her son, Nicholas, to establish The Apostal Group. She has earned the designation of GRI, successfully completing her advanced studies in real estate with the Illinois Graduate Realtors Institute, and her CRS, Certified Residential Specialist membership from the National Residential Sales Council.  In addition to being an active member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, Edie is also a member of state and national REALTOR® associations.  Throughout her career, Edie has been recognized annually as a top producer, winning more than 50 awards from employers and her peers in the industry.

A lifelong resident of the Chicago metropolitan area and a graduate of Northwestern University, Edie brings to her position of Broker Associate her expertise as a high school history teacher, an extensive knowledge of the evolution of Chicago’s neighborhoods, and her personal experiences as a homeowner, real estate investor and rehabber. Her community commitments include volunteer service in local schools, neighborhood associations and memberships in organizations such as the Lincoln Park Conservancy and the Lincoln Park Zoological Society.  These experiences, along with years of success in all types of market environments, and her warm, personal approach to working with clients and neighbors, make Edie uniquely qualified to guide both sellers and buyers with their individual journeys through homeownership.

Veronica Cavazos

Operations Manager

Veronica’s foremost responsibility is client care, she’s committed to supporting the team, making their ability to service their clients her top priority. She oversees all active property files, spearheads marketing efforts and coordinates the scheduling of all necessary resources in the management of each listing.  She’s especially good at overseeing the intricate contract process from singing through attorney review and mortgage acquisition to ensure that every transaction smoothly makes it to closing. Veronica has a strong work ethic, superior organizational skills and she prides herself in making every client’s move an enjoyable experience.

Veronica has worked in real estate since 2006, working for several independent brokers before joining The Apostal Group full-time in 2009.  These varied experiences give her a broad understanding of the Chicago real estate industry and extensive experience in the home sale process for vastly different property types and clientele.  Prior to her current career, Veronica was the operations manager for a corporate training and event company and trained as a chef in classical French cuisine.  She was born and raised in Chicago, loves knitting and exploring local parks with her family.

Sarah Ward Wilkes

Broker Associate

Wilkes_Sarah_highrez-2244RSarah Ward Wilkes brings over 10 years of client service experience in roles spanning locations from New York City and Nashville to Milan. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, Sarah held positions in public relations and publishing before overseeing event management for several major national food and beverage companies and worked as the brand manager of a major beverage brand, serving as the liaison to the vice president and national sales team. In this capacity, Sarah honed her exceptional organizational, writing and customer service skills, and developed a complete understanding of the relationship between a client and a great brand.

Bringing her marketing and customer service expertise to a more personal level, Sarah has chosen to apply her deep-rooted appreciation for real estate and her love of client-focused work to helping clients of The Apostal Group find the perfect home. Having lived in and owned property in several major cities over the span of her career, Sarah understands that the purchase or sale of a home, coupled with relocating, can be overwhelming. Her relaxed approach paired with her commitment to client service aims to provide a stress-free experience that will enable her clients to make the best possible choice and facilitate the easiest transition when buying a home.  Sarah currently lives at The Pointe townhomes in Lincoln Park with her husband and newborn baby.

Stephanie Rollison

Broker Associate

Stephanie Rollison is the newest addition to The Apostal Group. She brings a high-energy approach to both buying and selling, and she works relentlessly on behalf of clients. Drawing on her previous customer service and organizational experience, Stephanie has honed a client-focused style that ensures the best possible outcome for everyone she works with. In addition to her role at The Apostal Group, she also works as an assistant to a developer, coordinating all stages of renovation and restoration on investment properties, from management of contractors and sub-contractors to interior design, finishing and staging services.


Her motivated, entrepreneurial spirit makes her an ideal match for anyone looking to buy or sell, and she is particularly adept at working with investor clients and first-time home buyers. A long-term Chicago resident, Stephanie lives in River West with her dog George, a Wheaton terrier. In her free time, she plays sand volleyball and tries out the city’s newest bars and restaurants.
